Department of Criminology, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru in collaboration with Lion's Club International Lions, Mangalore Balmatta and Leo Club, Balmatta, Roshni Nilaya celebrated Women's Day on 8th March, 2022 at District Prison, Mangaluru. Superintendent of District Prison Mangaluru, Shri. Obleshappa B. T., Shri. Vijaya Vishnu Mayya, Regional Chairperson Region 4 Lions District, Shri. Shekhar Poojary, Zone Chairperson, Shri. Lancy Carlo, President, Lions Club Balmatta., Dr. Juliet C. J, Principal, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru, Ms. Sark Ankitha, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Criminology, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru were present. Dr. Rameela Shekhar, Director, Manashanthi, Mangaluru, Prof. Emeritus of Roshni Nilaya and a mental Health practitioner was the resource person on this occasion. She addressed the prison officials and female inmates of the prison. In her address she spoke about the techniques to manage mental health. The day was made memorable with the performance of skit, songs, messages and games by prison officials.
