The students of II MSW – PM & IR, School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya, were addressed by Mr. Ronald Mascarenhas, Head HR, Syngene International Ltd., Bengaluru, who spoke about the company’s inception in 1994, right up to its journey till date. Being India’s largest Contract Research Organization as well as India’s first listed CRO, he mentioned about the organization’s vision, “To be a world class partner delivering innovative scientific solutions” which is supported by their values – Integrity, Professionalism and Excellence.
Calling the HR professionals as the eyes and ears of the organization, Mr. Mascarenhas spoke about several qualities and skills that are prerequisites of being a successful HR professional. He deliberated on the importance of Human Resource Analytics, Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, and also discussed on the significance of up-skilling and re-skilling while upgrading oneself, which is the need of the hour in today’s times of dearth of talent. Mr. Mascarenhas concluded by stating that it is more important to become a successful person, than a mere HR professional, while stressing on working with concern towards the betterment of the society, without the hunger for name or fame.
The HR trainees provided positive feedback at the end of the session, whilst congratulating Mr. Mascarenhas on his revolution on the ban of plastics, supporting the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, and also on his contribution towards the conservation of the environment by planting saplings. The HR trainees had a productive three-hour session, which was informative as well as inspiring.
