YOUTH QUAKE has its origin in 1988 when an active bunch of students decided to rename and reformulate the AICUF group to which they belonged into a new group having a separate identity. Little they must have realised that they would be sowing the seeds of a group that was to become the most active and enriching youth group of Roshni Nilaya.
The Youth quake focuses on the development of the individual personality through the student’s involvement in the campus and the outside world. It also strives to inculcate a genuine sense of social concern in the members. The objectives of the Youth Quake as formulated by the students themselves are:
- To be of good influence to others.
- To take time off to make others happy.
- To develop self awareness among ourselves.
In view of the objectives, some of the activities conducted by the Youth Quake over the years have been community visits, educational tours, quiz, photo caption contest, trekking, carol singing, workshops, public speaking course and personality development. The Youth Quake is guided by the Staff Advisor Prof. Joselyn Lobo.
