Post graduate departments of the School of social work Roshni Nilaya celebrated Students Day with the theme ' Aloha’ (Hawaiian word for ‘love’) on the 1st June 2023. The Principal Dr. Sophia N. Fernandes inaugurated the Students Day 2023 by letting off the balloons. The program commenced with a prayer service led by the welfare officers and faculty. As part of the prayer service, Student representatives from the department of MSW, MSC Counseling and MSc CFS read a few verses related to the theme ‘Aloha’ from the Holy Scriptures Bible, Bhagwat Geeta and Quran. Three representatives of the student council also presented three potted plants which symbolizes their work towards the sustainability of the environment leading to the reduction of global warming. The Principal Dr. Sophia N Fernandes addressed the gathering with her cheering words of admiration on the giftedness of our students’ unique strengths and potentials. While delivering her message she emphasized that the competence and skills of the students should surpass their academics in handling and managing their life situations. Her inspiring words set the tone for the rest of the day with captivating dances, songs and fun-filled skits from students and faculty. The cultural program continued after the lunch where the students dazzled the stage with their enthralling dancing talents, resounding the college auditorium with laughter and merry until 3 pm, leaving behind lively and vivacious memories of bonding and love.
