Department of Criminology, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya organized a session on Civil Service Preparation on 10th November 2021 at 4.30 P.M. in the college auditorium. The resource person of the session was Advocate Kishan G, a Practising lawyer at Mangalore Bar Association and Ms. Sushmitha, Well-being Officer, Mangalore Police. A total of 28 students from 1st, 2nd and 3rd year BA attended the session. Ms. Suman from BA welcomed the gathering. Later on, the speaker took over the session. He briefed the students about the structure and pattern of the UPSC examination. Followed by detailed information about the different stages of examination like the prelims, mains and the interview. He quoted that there are mainly three services (IAS, IPS, IFS) and also briefed about other posts that the UPSC offers. Sir also shared a book list for reference as well as a few youtube references. Another guest speaker of the session Ms. Sushmitha also motivated the aspirants with her power-packed talk and gave the students a few tips on how to remember the topics that have been studied. Overall the session was a successful initiative that geared the students towards providing the skills in pursuing their careers in public service.
