On 23rd of November 2023, the Department of Criminology and the Department of Secretarial Practice jointly organized a captivating Indian Traditional Day celebration under the guidance of Ms. Sarik Ankita, Student Dean Progression, and HoD of Criminology, and Mrs. Deepika Santhosh, HoD of Secretarial Practice.
The glamorous ramp walk competition had distinguished judges—Mrs. Vineetha K., the Registrar Evaluation and HOD of BSW, Dr. Sandra Lobo, NAAC Coordinator and HOD of Psychology, and Mrs. Namratha, the Lab Assistant of Secretarial Practice—adding expertise and allure to the occasion. A vibrant assembly of 200 students from UG programme eliminated the event with their presence.
The program commenced at 3:30 PM with an enchanting welcome dance performed by the students of II BA, setting the tone for an evening filled with cultural richness and diversity. Aysha Amana from II BA, the enchanting maestro steering today’s program, took centre stage as the master of ceremonies.
Highlighting the theme of “Unity in Diversity,” the ramp walk competition kicked off with a mesmerizing performance by I BA, and the undeniable highlight was the enthralling demonstration of Silambam. Following this, the students of I BSW delivered a breath-taking performance, showcasing the harmony of diverse religions in India and uniting with love for their country.
The cultural extravaganza continued as II BA took the stage, blending the essence of traditional and Bollywood dances, creating a mesmerizing fusion. The nostalgia of childhood memories was invoked by the students of III BA, who stole our hearts with a performance reminiscent of our favourite cartoons. The III BSW students made a grand entrance, surprising the audience with their energy and mind-blowing performance.
The spotlight moment arrived as the victors of the ramp walk were revealed. The second runner-up position was secured by I BSW, while the ultimate victors of the evening were the students of III BA, whose performance captivated the judges as well as the audience.
The event not only showcased the talents of the students but also celebrated the rich Indian cultural tapestry that unites individuals from various backgrounds. The successful collaboration between the Department of Criminology and the Department of Secretarial Practice ensured a memorable Traditional Day that will be cherished by all who attended.
