NSS unit of School of Social work, Roshni Nilaya celebrated the Golden Jubilee of NSS on NSS day, September 24, 2019.
Professor Rita M. Noronha , Retired Professor of MSW, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya and the First NSS Officer of the College, was the Chief Guest and she inaugurated the programme with the lighting of the lamp. In her Inaugural speech she addressed the NSS students saying that NSS gives ample opportunities to the volunteers to be leaders, to analyse situations and to face challenges.
Former Principals of the College , Founder Principal Dr Olinda Pereira, Miss Philomena Serrao, Dr Jacintha D’souza and Provincial of the Daughters of the Heart of Mary, Miss Philomena D’sa were the Guests of Honour who felicitated the NSS Officers who served the NSS unit since 1975.
Prof. Vineetha K, Mangalore University NSS Co-ordinator said that NSS provides a platform for students to tap their potentials .
NSS Volunteers Deekska K , recipient of Indira Gandhi National Award for the Best Volunteer 2010-2011, Miss Chinthana, best NSS Volunteer University Level 2017-2018, Rajkihan G.S , Participant RD Parade, Bangalore January 26,2019 were felicitated.
Miss Juliet C.J , Principal of the College presided over the function.Associate Professir Cecilia F. Goveas, NSS Programme Officer welcomed the gathering.Assistant Professor Sandeep Ullal , Asstistant NSS Programme Officer proposed the Vote of Thanks. NSS volunteer Ahmad Safwan compered the programme.
