The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit, Youth Red Cross, SC/ST Cell and Department of Physical Education, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore celebrated 76th Independence Day with great patriotic fervour and zeal on 15, August 2022 at 8:00am in the college premises.
Dr. Juliet C J, Principal accompanied our Chief Guest Sri. Ragavendra Bhat, an Air veteran, Indian Force along with his wife Mrs. Vidya Bhat. Guest of Honour were: Ms. Philomena D’Sa Provincial, Daughters Of Heart of Mary, India Province South, Dr. Jenis Mary P Vice Principal, School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore, Ms. Vida Sequeira, President and Prof. Eveleen Benis, Secretary, Institute of Social Service, Prof. Vineetha K, Registrar (Evaluation), School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore.
The Programme began with invoking God's blessings. Ms. Sinchana Shetty, NSS leader welcomed the gathering. Commander Ms. Shirlene, NSS Volunteer requested Sri. Ragavendra Bhat to unfurl the Indian Flag followed by the National Anthem. To mark the importance of the historic Day in Indian history, Ms. Sinchana Shetty, III BSW and Ms. Shivani, NSS Volunteer delivered a beautiful speech in English and Kannada. Ms. Ann Mary, II MSW Student introduced the Chief Guest. Then Sri. Ragavendra Bhat spoke on the occasion of Independence Day as he presented an interesting account of the origin and development of the Indian freedom movement, its achievement and the challenges faced aftermath. He concluded by reminding us of our aspirations and duties towards our nation. Dr. Juliet C J, Principal delivered the Presidential Address following the patriotic song sung by Ms. Minola and group, NSS Volunteers. Mr. Arnold DSilva, II MSW Student gave vote of thanks. Kadija Hiba, YRC Volunteer was the host of the day.

The programme ended by giving sweets to all. Celebration climaxed as smoothly as it had begun. The audience departed with heightened patriotism and awareness about the nation they belong to.
