IQAC, NSS Unit, SC/ST Cell in collaboration with Department of Physical Education Organised Republic Day Celebration-2023

Another year added to the historic moment when India celebrated its first Republic Day in 1950. Today marked its 74th year when the Constitution of India came into effect. As proud citizens, the faculty and students of School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya celebrated the Republic Day at the college premises.
The program started with the introduction by Mr. Aeron Rodrigues followed by the invocation. Following this the heads of faculty payed their respects to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar with a floral tribute.
Thereafter, The Chief Guest Dr. Juliet C J Former Principal, was then invited to unfurl the flag and the national anthem was sung. Then Ms. Sandra Prince, General Secretary, P.G Council led the assembly in pledge to the nation. Following this, the Chief Guest of the function Dr. Juliet C. J addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of the day; when the constitution had been enacted. She also conveyed that, as social workers our job is to strive to achieve liberty, equality and justice for everyone in need. Finally, the PG Student Convener, Devika spoke about the importance of the day and how we as citizens must abide by the rights and duties that are granted to us by the constitution.
Other guests of honour included Presiding Officer Dr. Jennis Mary Vice Principal, Prof. Vineetha K Registrar of Evaluation and Prof. Eveleen Bennis Secretary, Institute of Social Service also graced the function.
Later on the MSW and BSW batches each performed a song that spread a sense of patriotism. The vote of thanks was given by Mr. Aeron Rodrigues marking an end to the Republic Day Celebrations at Roshni Nilaya.
