The Roshni Nilaya family’s awaited day to come together once a year for the celebration of their Institution Day is held on 2nd February 2024 at 9.30am in the college Auditorium. The staff and students of the Institute of Social Service such as School of Social Work, service centers Kindergarten, Family Service Agency, Family Counselling Centre, Childline, Nava Jeevan Marg, Bolar and Vishwas-Care for the elderly joined together to rejoice the 64th Institution day. Prof. Vineetha Rai, Associate Professor cum Controller of Examination of the college addressed the gathering on the occasion stressing the contribution of the Institute to the Society.

The program began with the prayer service led by Ms. Elizabeth Deepika Ponnuraj, Student Co-Ordinator of First year MSc Criminology and Forensic Science invoking the blessing of almighty. The selected verses of holy scriptures Bible, Quran and Bhagavat Geetha were recited symbolizing the unity. Ms. Delilah Valerie Goveas, General Secretary of PG student Council welcomed the gathering, and Ms. Sona Prakash, PG Convener presented a sapling to Prof Vineetha as a token of gratitude.

The students of institute involved in the celebration with outstanding cultural programmes which began with the classical and fusion solo by Ms. Sindhoora of First Year MSW, led by a group dance from kinder-garden children, students and staff of Undergraduate and Post Graduate departments. There was active participation from the representative of all the department faculties and students in cultural programme by making a day memorable one. At the end a solo dance was performed by a MSW student which showcased the cultural heritage of Sikkim.

Ms. Karthika, student of second year MSW delivered the vote of thanks. The programme concluded at 12:00pm with National Anthem. Sr. Maria Anitha, student of second year MSW compered the whole programme and Ms Vedhaashini S. Gowda, student of first year MSc Criminology and Forensic Science compiled the report. Altogether, around 280 students and faculties were present on this occasion.
