Family Counselling Centre was started in the year 1987, a project funded by Central Social Welfare Board (C.S.W.B.) – New Delhi. Since 1995, the grant has been routed through Karnataka State Social Welfare Board, Bangalore. Being a national project of the Government of India, it has to follow the mandates and procedures as laid down by them.
Objectives:
- To provide Preventive, Promotive & Rehabilitative services to women and children who are victims of atrocities and exploitation through counselling.
- To create awareness about the existing laws related to Women & Children and provide facilities like Free Legal Aid, referrals to Short Stay homes, Medical &
- Psychiatric Treatment, Vocational Guidance, and I.Q. & Aptitude Tests.
- To provide services to women and children in distress through crisis interventions, investigation of dowry harassment, marital disharmony, alcoholism and mental illness.
- To enable reconciliation and amicable settlement out of court.
