In a significant move towards community engagement and social responsibility, the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya College, is collaborates with Neermarga Panchayat. This Partnership activities is a result of a joint effort between the institution (extension officers & faculties) and the Panchayat authorities.
Initial Visit and Discussion
On 29 August 2024 a team comprising faculties Mrs. Veena B K, Ms. Colin D’Souza, Mr. Sandeep Ullal and Mrs. Anusuya Kamath Extension Officer visited Neermarga Panchayat to seek permission for partnership. The team held a detailed discussion with the Panchayat President, Panchayath Developmental Officer (PDO) and members, outlining the proposed programs and activities to be implemented in the Panchayat. These programs will be spearheaded by the UG and PG departments of the college, focusing on community development, social welfare, and empowerment.
Permission and Support
The Panchayat authorities have extended their full support to the college, granting permission for partnership. A formal letter has been issued by the Panchayat, acknowledging the partnership.
Future Plans
The college plans to undertake various initiatives in Neermarga Panchayat, including:
- Community need assessments and surveys
- Health and wellness programs
- Education and literacy initiatives
- Women's empowerment and skill development
- Environmental conservation and sustainability projects
