SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK
The preparation for the launching of the AICUF unit of School of Social Work was initiated by Rev. Fr. Claude D’Souza in 1974.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF AICUF
- To enable students to develop critical awareness of the Indian and world situation, to cultivate a deep and genuine concern for the oppressed and marginalized
- To help students to evolve spirituality that has humanization as its core through involvement and reflection.
- To motivate students to become involved in studies, research and activities linked to broader social issues and struggles
- To enable Christian students to play a prophetic role in their communities through living and critical understanding of their faith.
With an animator, and two elected representatives at the centre, the AICUFERs are determined not to leave things as they have found it.

2017 - Ms. Vanshika Mathias, Assistant Professor, Department of Criminology.
MEMBERSHIP: Membership is open to all students without any discrimination on the basis of sex or religion.
The AICUF members attend rallies to affirm solidarity in support of social issues. Through their visits to old age homes and orphanages, they express their concern to the marginalized. They participate in regional meetings of the AICUF, leadership camps, put up meaningful Christmas programmes every year in the college campus. Christmas programmes are also given in other venues in the city. Clothes are collected and handed over to the deserving and marginalised people on certain occasions.
