As a part of curriculums, Nineteen Second Year students of Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science had been to internship for a month (December 2021) at various Forensic Science and Criminological relevant fields in and around the state of Karnataka. Students had an opportunity to get firsthand experience while working and assisting in the organization they were placed in. After successfully completing the internship students were awarded with certificate.
Eleven students from Questioned Documents and Impression Evidences (QDIE) were placed in State Forensic Science Laboratory and State Fingerprint Bureau, Goa, District Fingerprint Bureau, Kollam City Police, Fingerprint Bureau, Western Range, Mangaluru, Single Digit Fingerprint Bureau, Kottayam, Questioned Document Division of Regional Forensic Science Laboratory, Kochi, Fingerprint Unit of Mysore City Police and District Police, Fingerprint Unit at Chikkamagaluru, State Fingerprint Bureau, CID, Hyderabad, Thelangana.
Eight students from Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice (FPCJ) specialization were placed in Central Crime Station Madhapur and Clues team, Cyberabad and Rachakonda Commisionerate, District Child Protection Unit, Mangaluru, Government Observation Home for boys, Mysuru, Parivarthana-Unit of Shrimatha Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, Kota, Thalaash Association, Bengaluru, SDM De-addiction and Research Centers, Ujjire, and Inchara-NGO, Mangaluru. Students had to maintain the report daily for the assessment and there was open class discussion to share the experiences they had during the internship.
