Youth Red Cross Events

The Youth Red Cross Unit of the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, actively participated in the World Health Day celebration held on 7th April 2025 at Ravindra Kala Bhavana, University College, Hampankatta, Mangalore. The programme was jointly organized by the Indian Red Cross Society – Dakshina Kannada, Youth Red Cross – Mangalore University, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), and University College, Mangalore, under the theme “Healthy Beginning, Hopeful Future.” The event featured an awareness talk on early detection of speech and hearing problems, followed by the inauguration of a speech and hearing check-up camp. Six YRC volunteers from Roshni Nilaya took part in the day’s events. Ms. Haleema Mazeena, Ms. Shoukila Shireen, and Ms. Nafeesathul Zaima secured third place in the Red Cross Quiz Competition.

The celebration concluded with a prize distribution ceremony and lunch, offering a valuable learning experience and emphasizing youth involvement in public health initiatives.
