The Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science had organized a session for second year students of Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice specialization on “Structure and functions of Childline” on 21st April 2022 at 10:30 am.
Mrs. Lavita D’Souza, City Coordinator, Childline Nodal officer, Mangaluru was the resource. She discussed about the history of Childline, vision and objectives of Childline Service, Childline 1098 services, Categories of children that the agency is concerned and POCSO Act. Further, she spoke about the composite and functions of Child Welfare Committee, Juvenile Justice Board, Ministry of Women and Child Development and its divisions, Child in Conflict with Law, Children in Need of Care and Protection, Nodal organizations, Child Protection Process, various activities of ChildLine and volunteering with Childline. There was an interaction session enquiring about the role of students in case of child found on roads and various cases relevant to child issues. The session ended with the presentation of a video pertaining to the work process in Childline.
