Students of 2nd year M.Sc counselling conducted a two-day psycho- educational workshop on 26th and 27th November 2019 on the topic ‘Social Competence’ based on the approach of behaviour therapy for the students of 6th standard, Morning Star English Medium School, Bajpe.
The aim of the session was to enhance social competence through behaviour therapy in order to boost the students level of social competence, to make them understand the meaning and importance of social competence, the styles of effective social skills, to teach them non verbal and paralinguistic components and to teach them verbal and self regulatory techniques to build social competence. The outcome of the session was that the members were able to communicate appropriately by using verbal, non-verbal and paralinguistic methods and self-regulation. The members also learnt various techniques to build social competence.
