Forty two II BA students of Psychology accompanied by Dr. Sandra Sunitha Lobo and Asst. Prof. Roshini Monica Goveas visited St. Anthony’s Charity Institutes from 3 to 4 pm. on Wednesday, 12th April 2023. Rev Fr. Larry Pinto, Asst. Director briefed us about the history and administration of these Institutes.
The students entertained around 60 inmates with a medley of vintage Konkani and Kannada songs. Besides, a steady stream of jokes in Kannada made the audience laugh. Games were conducted and prizes were distributed.

Thereafter, the students were shown the 15 homes, a piggery, candle making unit (currently closed) tailoring unit, a piggery, a kitchen that caters to feeding 400 inmates etc.

The visit was an exercise to introspect and appreciate stages of life besides expressing solidarity with the elderly and destitute in particular. A communitarian spirit was evoked and students engaged in works of charity by donating rice, soaps, and tubes of toothpaste.
