On 4th December, 2024 the third day of the workshop at the Peyton Institute for Family Counseling combined theoretical knowledge with practical application. The session started at 9:00 pm The day commenced with a welcome and orientation by Director of the institute Fr. Siju Joseph, followed by a calming Bhajan led by Father Royal Nazareth. He then recapped the previous sessions and introduced key topics, including Transgenerational Therapy such as Bowen Family Systems Theory, focusing on essential concepts such as introduction to Murray Bowen, triangulation and differentiation of self, mother-parent symbiosis, chronic anxiety, nuclear family emotional process, bowens transmission, family projection etc.
Participants actively engaged in case conceptualization exercises through role play and practiced creating genograms to identify family patterns and relationships.the session ended at 12:50pm
After lunch, the session began at 2:00 pm the group explored the concept of detriangulation and discussed pseudo-self and solid self, emphasizing their relevance in family dynamics. The day concluded with interactive role-play sessions in smaller groups, where participants took on the role of therapists to apply their learning. The students then shared their insights and gave feedback to the facilitator, ended with a gratitude note by Ifra Ayesha of 1st MSc Counselling. The day was highly interactive and educational, offering participants valuable tools and insights for effective family counseling.The session ended at 4:00 pm
