'Tika Utsav' - Mega Vaccination drive 2021 was organised by National Service Scheme and Youth Red Cross Unit of School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru on July 01, 2021. The vaccination drive was inaugurated by Dr. Sowjanya, Physician and team, Yekkur Primary Health Care Centre. Dr. Sowjanya explained the benefits of vaccination and told the participants of the vaccination drive that even if they are vaccinated they still need to protect themselves by wearing masks, maintaining Social distancing and other safety measures to reduce the spread of Covid-19.
Dr. Juliet C J, Principal gave the presidential address and also wished on the occasion of National Doctors Day. The vaccination drive was organised by Mr. Obanath, NSS Programme Officer, Ms. Veena B K, Assistant NSS Programme Officer, Ms. Anusuya Kamath, YRC Programme Officer.
On this occasion Dr. Jenis Mary, Vice Principal, Prof. Eveleen Benis, Secretary, Institute of Social Service, Dr. Sandra Lobo, NAAC Coordinator, Mr. Sandeep Ullal, Physical Education Director were present. A total of 197 students and staff of the college were vaccinated during this ‘tika utsav’.
The NSS Volunteers Ms. Ronika Nair, Ms. Jenessa Lucas, Mr. Anthony Paul, Mr. Donald K.S, Ms. Jeslin John, Ms. Sinchana, Mr. Vinson Braganza, Mr. Shane Anthony, Ms. Shalik Pinto, Mr. Glen, Ms. Valerie Lobo, Ms. Larisa D'souza worked as volunteers during this vaccination drive.
