Faculty Achievements

Ms. Sarik Ankitha, the Head of the Department of Criminology, acted as the keynote speaker for an Awareness session on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at St. Agnes School, Mangaluru, on 31st August 2024. In her presentation, she focused on the vital topic of identifying safe and unsafe touch, stressing the need for students to report any incidents of abuse to trusted figures such as teachers, parents, or counselors.

Furthermore, Ms. Ankitha highlighted the importance of using social media responsibly. She advised students to be cautious when sharing personal details online, urging them to maintain privacy settings and refrain from posting sensitive information publicly. The session aimed to equip students with knowledge about safeguarding themselves both physically and online, promoting their overall security and well-being.

The session was attended by 120 students from grades 1 to 7.
