The School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, marked the International Day of Yoga with enthusiasm and active participation on Tuesday, June 21, 2016. The event, held in the college auditorium, saw over 100 students engaging in yoga exercises under expert guidance.

The celebration was jointly organized by the NSS unit and the Department of Physical Education of the college. Yogacharya (Yogarathna) Mr. Gopalkrishna Delampady Konchady from Mangalore, along with members of Yoga Prathistana Delampady, led the yoga demonstration.

Dr. Flocy Rayappan, the NSS programme officer, introduced the yoga instructors to the students. Mr. Gopalkrishna Delampady emphasized the healing power of yoga, stating, "The practice of Yoga has the power to heal the entire body." The one-hour yoga demonstration that followed aimed to commemorate World Yoga Day.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Flocy Rayappan and Mr. Balakrishna, Head of the Department of Physical Education. Mr. Balakrishna, who also serves as the Assistant NSS programme officer, proposed the vote of thanks.

This celebration aligns with the annual observance of International Yoga Day, which has been held on June 21st since its inception in 2015.
