Mangalore, January 3, 2018 - The School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya held its Annual Sports Meet today at St. Joseph's ground in Jeppu, Mangalore. The event saw enthusiastic participation from BA, BSW, MSW, and M.Sc. students.
Mr. Premnath Ullal, International Kabaddi Referee and Rajyothsav Awardee, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He was escorted by Mr. Sandeep Ullal, Assistant Professor and Physical Director of the school, along with the band team. In his address, Mr. Ullal encouraged students to develop a sportsman spirit for overall development.
The day began with a colorful march past, where students from different classes showcased their unity through themed presentations. This was followed by the torch relay and oath-taking ceremony.
The main events included a variety of track and field competitions. Students participated in races ranging from 100 meters to 3000 meters, as well as relay races. Field events such as shot put and discus throw were open to both students and staff.
Dr. Laxminaraya Bhat inaugurated the event, while Dr. Rameela Shekhar, NAAC Coordinator, and Prof. Evylen Bennis presided over the valedictory function.
In the individual championships, Mr. Roshan D'souza from Roshni Tuskers emerged as the winner in the men's section, while Mrs. Adhishree BK, also from Roshni Tuskers, clinched the title in the women's section.

- Best March Past: II year BSW (UG Section) and MSC CFS (PG Section)
- Best DJ Dance teams: Roshni Panthers and Roshni Tigers
- Overall Championship: Roshni Tuskers
- First Runners-up: Roshni Panthers
- Second Runners-up: Roshni Hunters
The event concluded with the lowering of the flag and the singing of the National Anthem, marking the end of the Sports Day for the Academic Year 2017-2018.
