MILANA 2022
Annual Get together – RAA Bangalore Chapter

The School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore and Roshni Alumni Association, Bengaluru organized a most awaited annual get together called ‘Milana 2022 ‘ at Hotel ‘The Capitol’Bengaluru on 8th May 2022 from 10:00 am to 5:00pm. Around 300 Alumni members participated. The annual gathering was organized after two and half years.Thealumni from under graduation and post-graduation courses including senior alumni from 1970s and 1980s witnessed the gathering. Alumni from Dubai, Philippines, Bombay, Mysore, Mangalore and other parts of Karnataka were present.

Programme started with prayer, continued with condolence to the departed alumni especially during the COVID, proceeded with cultural activities performed by alumni members in the morning time like singing by Nishmitha Pinto,Arathi Appaiah, mimicry by Philip Sebastian, Yakshagana by Ravi Kulal, Mime by Arun and Team, standup comedy by Ganesh Poojary and many others. The cultural activities were coordinated by Shri DharmaprasadRai.

Vilas Nayak a well-known international fast painting artist performed the painting and the crowd appreciated the super talent at the event. Mr Raghavendra Acharya, a professional standup comedian inspired the crowd by various humors.

After the cultural programme we started with formal programme where Shri H G Chandrashekhar, Chairman and Managing Director, Sasmos HET Technologies Ltd Bengaluru was the chief guest. President ShriJagadish Shekhar Naik welcomed the gathering. The chief guest spoke on the Industry, HR role and appreciated the strength and bond of alumni among each other. Dr Sr Juliet C J presided over the function.She mentioned on the various kinds of programs taken up by college to support maximum number of students and was delighted to see the participation of Alumni in Milana 2022.

The main attractions of the whole programme was to honour thealumni with excellent awards.

Shri Kumar Stephen Raja, affectionately called, Kumaranna, support staff, School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya Mangalore. Award on the Category: Life time achievement award.He wasfelicitated for his 24 years of continuous service.

The cheque was presented to the family of Canteen mama, Late Shri. Narasimha Rao, who passed away a few weeks back. The prizes were distributed to the winners of the Sports meet which was held under the leadership of Shri Bashee rHarladka and team in the month of March 2022.

The MSW batch 2001 and golden batch 2010 were appreciated for their highest attendance in Milana 2022.Ten members participated from each batch.

Secretary of the association Dr Margaret Lavina Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks. Alumni Clement, Dolfred, and team put up a musical band for the celebration. Tom Stanley, Nishmitha Pinto, Ganesh Poojary and many other alumni and their children played the musical instruments and performed for Milana 2022.

The Cultural events were compered by Shri Rickson Fernandes and Stage function was compered by Shri Mallikarjun Patil. It was a first annual get together after the onset of Covid-19 pandemic. Alumni had a super fantastic,fabulous, fun filled day with each other which was conluded with a festive lunch.
