As a part of Post Promotional Course for Police Sub-Inspectors of Western Range, Karnataka, the second day training session was held on Thursday 7th October 2021 at 11.30am in the College Seminar hall on the topic ‘Role of Police Sub-Inspectors in Administration, Behaviour with Colleagues, Sub-ordinates and Superiors, Expectation of People, Ways to Improve Present Police Image and General behaviour’. Mrs. Jennifer Carlo, Asst. Professor, Post Graduate Department of Counselling, School of social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru was the resource person. She spoke about the role of Police Sub-Inspectors in administration, general behavior with colleagues and the public. She stressed on the expectations of people and how assertively police officials can deal with conflict if any and tips to maintain healthy relationships. There was an interactive session based on the field experiences and the challenges faced by the police while facing various crisis situations.
Thereafter, Police Sub-Inspectors visited the Forensic Science exhibition arranged by the Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science in the College campus. Students of the department took an initiative to explain the functions of various divisions of Forensic Science Laboratory and the evidentiary value of the scientific evidences found in the crime scene.
Dr. Saritha D’Souza, Director, Centre for Extension Services and Head of the Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science of the college welcomed the Police officials and briefed about the scheduled of the day. Mr. Roshan D’Souza, Assistant Professor of the Department and six student representatives of the department were present on this occasion.Altogether, 41 Police Sub-Inspectors of Western Range Police, two accompanied staff of the police department actively interacted with the students and faculties of the department.
