The Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science had organized a session on Brain Mapping, for the students of Second Year MSc CFS, Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice Specialization on 30th October 2021. The resource person for the day was Ms. Shimona Dias, Junior Scientific Officer, State Forensic Science Laboratory, Goa. She was an alumnus of this institution and completed her studies in between 2016 to 2018.
She spoke about the Historical development of brain mapping, Procedures followed in the Forensic Science Laboratory, application of brain fingerprinting, Computer based technology, Relevance of Brain fingerprinting in and around India, admissibility of brain mapping in Indian Courts with reference to case studies. The interaction session was held online via Google meet and the students were enthusiastically asking the queries pertaining to the theme.
