The Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science(CFS) had organized fifteen days block placement in various police stations under the jurisdiction of Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate from 11 March 2023 to 25 March 2023 for eighteen first year students of the department.

The main objective is to have firsthand experience of working with police officials and to learn the various functions of Police station, Procedure of maintaining different Crime Control Records. The detailed report of each day maintained by the students had been evaluated and each student were given an opportunity to share their learning experience in the class.

The students expressed that they had good learning experience with the police, the way each case is handled, role and responsibilities of police officials, programmes conducted to prevent various crimes, crime control awareness provided to the public, police-public relation etc. Students also stated that block placement helped them to remove the negative image of police and created an opportunity to build contact with police. At the end of the internship, students expressed their gratitude for the insight provided by all the officials. Each student was awarded with certificates. Altogether, 18 students were placed in the police stations.
