On the occasion of 12th National Youth Day, Forensis Forum of the Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science had organized an awareness program as a part of Post Graduate Common Forum activity on the theme “Prevention of Youth Delinquency” on 24th January 2024 at 3:30 pm in the college auditorium.

The aim of the program was to create awareness about various crimes that are committed by the youth, the cause for their delinquent behavior and to alert them with the laws related to those crimes along with the punishments. The activity conducted by first year students of Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science included a session, skit and an activity. The program began with a prayer lead by Ms.Adheena M and Ms Feba Shamma R invoking God's blessings. Ms.Nicole Mendonca, student of first year MSc Criminology and Forensic Science welcomed the gathering. A skit was performed on the concept Societal Influence on Children leading to Youth Delinquency entitled “THE MIRROR”. Ms. Adheena M and Ms.Fathima Farasath gave a conceptual idea about the theme including causes of criminal behavior, various crimes committed by youth such as eve-teasing, pornography, sex crimes, murder and narcotic crimes and the laws prescribed in the Indian Penal code for the crime.

Thereafter, an activity was conducted for the students by dividing them into groups. The activity was to solve the picture puzzle related to youth and crime in the given time constraint and the group with most correct answers were declared as winners with award.

The program concluded at 4:30 pm with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Elizabeth Deepika Ponnuraj, Student Coordinator, First MSc CFS. Students and faculty expressed positive remarks about the programs. Altogether, 61 students and 06 faculties were present during the session.
