Oct 12, 2017: A thematic presentation was conducted by the students of PG Department of Criminology and Forensic Science on October 10, 2017 at 3:30 P.M. in the Seminar hall of School of Social Work, Mangaluru on the topic - Food Adulteration. A PowerPoint presentation was conducted which gave information regarding the various Acts relating to food adulteration as well as the common adulterated food stuffs and the ways of detecting them using generally available household items.
A skit was performed on the adverse effects of consuming adulterated food and the procedures that the public should follow in such instances. Some tests that can be carried out without the use of chemicals were demonstrated. This thematic presentation was aimed at increasing awareness not just concerning the tests that can be performed for detection by the layman but also to educate them about their rights regarding adulterated food items.
