A capacity enhancement programme on the topic Planning and Prioritizing was organised by the department of MSc Counselling in the UG department of School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore. The session was facilitated by Haleemath Safwana, Ayeshath Mushreefa Nasreen, Efrath, Anthony Paul, Akshaya Kini and Leena Periera of 2nd MSc counselling on 27th October 2023. The participants were the 27 students of 1st BSW, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore.
The objectives of the session were to equip the members with skills of planning and prioritizing and make the members aware of the importance of planning and prioritizing.
The group process started off with an ice breaker followed by the introduction of the topic. An activity was introduced to incorporate the skills of planning and prioritising wherein the participants were taught the importance of planning and prioritizing, how to plan and prioritize tasks, and how to structure tasks based on the importance and urgency. To practically understand the concept, the participants were asked to make a plan for the coming week based on their priorities. Then the session was summarized and concluded with short feedback by the students. The outcome of the session was that the participants were able to identify their priorities based on the urgency and importance of the task and plan accordingly.
