Crimino-Vision Events

The department of Criminology organized a webinar on Victim Compensation and Restitution on 7th May, 2021 from 11.00 a.m to 12.00 p.m on Google meet platform. The guest speaker was Ms. Athira Jose, Asst Professor of Criminology, Apollo College, Tamil Nadu.

Victim compensation is a direct financial reimbursement to a victim for an expense that resulted from a crime, such as medical costs or lost wages. The guest speaker spoke about Cr.P.C and the different sections in which the victim compensation is provided. She even explained about the compensation given to the victims of grievous hurt and for the immediate family in the cases where death has occurred. Overall the session was interactive.
