The UG Department of Criminology organised a Capacity building workshop conducted by Centre of health (CHD) Group team members on “Save 400 - A Mission on Road Safety" for year BA criminology student of School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, on 22nd June, 2019 at 9.45 am. This was an effort for bringing about a social consciousness on road safety. A total of 75 students participated in this program. Every year, more than 1.50 lakhs people lose their lives in our country in road accidents and many more are disabled. This causes immense economic hardship and emotional trauma to their families. There is an urgent need to make our roads safer as the loss of lives and limbs cannot be accepted as the price of mobility. There is a need for the society at large to take cognizance of the issue and to join hands to make road safety a social movement. The aim of the programme was to give all the participants awareness on the cause.
