Twenty-nine final year students accompanied by Associate Professor Ms. Sandra Lobo and Assistant Professor Ms. Yamini Gowda PC visited Pavithram, Coimbatore on 25th November, 2019. Mr. Naveen Prasad and Ms. Shiva Priya conducted an interactive session during which, a play therapy was used to demonstrate the issues pertaining to anger, displacement, regression, progression, goal setting, overcoming challenges and leadership.

The group proceeded to Anamalai Tiger Reserve.

Krishna Nursing Home, Centre for Medical Psychology, counselling and de-addiction, Coimbatore was visited on 26th November 2019. Ms. Sridurga conducted an orientation programme to the Psychiatric team. The first session was about Electroconvulsive Therapy which was taken up by the Psychiatrist, Dr. Sharnita.

The next session was taken up the Clinical Psychologist, Ms Raghavi, on Child Psychiatry and Psychotherapies. A visit to the wards, occupational therapy centre as well as the ECT room was informative.

After a fruitful exposure to a private psychiatric nursing home, the students proceeded to Isha Foundation founded by Jaggi Vasudev.

A trek to Doddabetta, the highest mountain in the Nilgiri Mountains at 2,637 metres (8,650 feet) was arranged on 27th November, 2019. The educational tour helped to integrate theoretical perspectives with practical exposure.
