The Department of Rural Development organized a one-day field visit to Shree Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) Guruvayankere on Saturday 22nd February 2025. The visit was an enriching experience for the students providing them valuable insights into the operations of small-scale industries. Students explored and understood the meticulous process of producing and packaging high quality pickles,

Students also visited arecanut leaf plate manufacturing unit, where they came to know about different stages of preparation of plates. The students familiarized themselves with the prices of raw materials, profit margin on the product and marketing strategy used by them. In the afternoon, visit was made to Dharmasthala temple and car museum. The field visit gave the students and opportunity to understand the challenges and opportunities faced by the rural communities. Twenty-Five students were part of the field visit.
