The parents/guardians of I BA/BSW students met in the college auditorium on 18th June, 2018 from 9:30 am to 12 pm. The meeting opened with a prayer song by the students followed by a warm welcome by the Principal, Ms. Juliet, C.J. This was followed by the introduction of the faculty members.
Dr. Jenis Mary, Vie Principal, briefed about the DHMs and the institution through a PowerPoint presentation (emphasizing on the vision, mission, profile of the college, history of SSW, ECA activities, Spiritual formation, international partnerships, alumni and fora activities).
Dr. L. N. Bhat, Registrar, spoke about the autonomous status of the college, role of Mangalore University, academic details, attendance criteria and examination details.
Prof. Vineetha Rai and Prof. Sandra Lobo put forth the code of conduct for the students to the gathering. The college resonated the ethos "freedom with responsibility and freedom with accountability." The rules and regulations with regard to general behaviour in the campus, dress code, mobile ettiquettes, important dates, timings, ID cards, mentoring and Disciplinary Committee.
Oro. Joselyn Lobo and Rev. Devan (reperesentative from Chennai Office) spoke about the transfer model of degree certificate of Roshni Nilaya in collaboration with Concordia College, USA.
Prof. Shobhana N. explained the role of the parents and introduced them to the PRG and its functioning. Parents volunteered as executive members of PRG.
Prof. Shobhana N. compered the programme and Prof. Cecilia Goveas proposed the vote of thanks.
The first year students also had an ice-breaker session organized and conducted bt the final year BA/BSW students.
