Teachers' day was celebrated on 5th September 2019 at School Of Social Work Roshni Nilaya, Valencia, Mangalore.
With the theme for the day as "Retro" the teachers and students came together in their stunning nostalgic attire. From the decorations to the performance, everything was theme based.
Students showed their limitless love and gratitude to their teachers in the form of dance, song, poetry etc. With great respect to the profession and recognition of the important role of a teacher, the students rose with pride and welcomed all the teachers. The students took the teachers back to the black and white days and created a scenario filled with love and endless joy. As a token of gratitude and appreciation for the teachers, the students decorated the pots with deep affection and warm regards and presented it to their dear teachers with the thought that In ancient India the pots symbolised the treasure of the house just like how every teacher is a treasure in the life of each student. Along with it, an eco friendly pen embedded with the seeds of tomato and lady's finger in it was presented. A specially designed keychain with "dear teacher, you're one in a million" printed on it was also gifted.
This year the entire program was managed by students without the use of plastics.
It's a matter of pride that the college has taken an initiative in fighting the big battle of climate change by banning the use of plastic within the college premises .
This wonderful day of honouring the teachers ended with a grandeur lunch organised by the students to the entire staff. A photo booth was aesthetically designed to suit the theme of the teachers day celebration.
