The Youth Red Cross unit, NSS unit, BSW Department, Departments of PG Studies, Department of Sports, and IQAC of the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Blood Bank, Government Lady Goschen Hospital Mangaluru, and Lions Club Balmatta, Mangalore, organized a Blood Donation Camp on Wednesday, 16 October 2024, at the college auditorium from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.

The program began with a prayer song led by NSS volunteers, followed by a warm welcome from Mr. Obanath M, NSS Programme Officer. The camp was officially inaugurated by Mr. Praveen, District Coordinator of the Blood Bank at the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Dakshina Kannada District. In attendance were Mrs. Sandra Crasta, President of Lions Club Balmatta, Mangalore, and her team, who sponsored refreshments for the event.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Assoc. Prof. Cecilia F Goveas, Controller of Examinations; Dr Saritha D'Souza, IQAC Coordinator; Dr Meena Monteiro, Dean of the PG Department; Dr Sandra Lobo, Dean of the UG Department; Ms. Veena B. K., HoD of the BSW Department; Ms. Colin D'Souza and Ms. Deepika Sanil, Assistant NSS Programme Officers; and Mr. Sandeep Ullal, Physical Education Director, along with other faculty members.

The camp saw enthusiastic participation from staff, students, parents, and members of the general public, resulting in the generous donation of 112 units of blood. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Anusuya Kamath, YRC Programme Officer, and the program was smoothly anchored by Ms. Fasahath Kulsum, an NSS volunteer.
