City Municipal Council, Ullal and local CBOs launched a community based organic vegetable growing unit by 13 Women in Uliya ward on 27th July, 2020.
The organic vegetable growers unit will use manure prepared out of vet municipal wastes of ullal, thereby support the ZWM initiatives and directly help in reducing the wastes taken to landfills at Pachchanadi.
CMC plans to extend this in all its wards(31). Lions International has come forward to support this initiative. School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru, has become a partner with CMC, Ullal in this project.
