Four students of II M.Sc. Counselling conducted Psycho-Education programme on the topic ‘Self- Compassion’ for 22 members of Inchara Home for Children, Shivbagh, on 15th and 16th February 2021.
The aim of the programme was to cultivate and to teach the participants about self-compassion and its importance in our day to day life. Humanistic approach was used to educate the participants about different aspects of self-compassion, ways to cultivate self-compassion, what is inner critic, its types and how to overcome inner critic. Preliminary assessment was administered to assess the level of self-compassion among the participants.
The session helped the participants to understand and know self-compassion is and how it can help them in their day to day life. It also facilitated participants to understand themselves better and realize where they could use it.
Most of the participants learned new terms and skills to help them deal with situations and in understanding themselves better. On the whole the facilitators met their objectives in educating, cultivating and teaching skills for self-compassion effectively.
