Psycho – education programme on the topic ‘Self – Concept’ was conducted by 14 students of II M.Sc. Counselling for 80 students of P.A first grade college, Deralakatte, on 5th March 2021.
The aim of the programme was to develop a positive self – concept among the participants. Person centred approach was used to educate members to have a deeper understanding about self – concept, components and importance of self – concept, to help them understand how they view themselves and to teach the participants ways to cultivate positive self – concept.
The session helped the group of participants to have a deeper understanding and ways to develop their self – concept. It also helped the members to take a stand for themselves when they have to, in certain situations of their life.
Most of the members learnt ways to cultivate positive self – concept. On the whole the facilitators met their objectives in educating, cultivating and teaching positive self – concept.
