A need based psycho-education session on substance abuse was conducted for the students of Cascia high school on 20th and 27th January 2017. The session was facilitated by two students of M.Sc. Counselling.
Aim : To make them aware about the issue of substance use, the hazards, and the tendency of peer pressure and also to help the student identify the safe zone and people whom they can report.
Objectives:
- To create awareness about addictive substances
- Make an awareness of the harmful effects of substance use
- To train them in techniques to resist peer pressure
Outcome: The outcome of the session was clarifying the myth associated with substance use. Removing the cool factor associated with this, awareness raising and building committee to monitor such behaviour
