a)Empowering Dalits, Adivasis and landless through MGNREGA:A Case Study of Davanagere District in Karnataka (August 2017)
Background:
This study was done in 4 GPs of Davanagere district where local NGO ‘SPOORTHY’ was involved in organising the Job Card Holders and giving them awareness about MNREGA and Rules and empower them to demand employment under MNREGA as their right. This study focuses on finding out how far MNREGA has succeeded in converting the rural livelihood programs as right based movement of BPL families to ameliorate themselves from poverty by demanding employment in their habitation according their working potential for their own economic development as well as improving the resources in their neighbourhood.
