The Annual Sports Meet organized by the School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya was a grand success. It was held on the spacious grounds of Mangalore City Corporation at nandigudda, with the inauguration ceremony on 8th November 2023 starting at 9:00 am. Mr. Sandeep Ullal Director of Physical Education and Ms. Roshini Monica Goveas, School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya along with Band team escorted our esteemed chief guest Mr.ROSHAN FERRAO, an International Body Builder and Ekalavya Awardee was the esteemed chief guest of the event, Prof. Vineetha K Registrar,(Evaluation) School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya, and Prof. Cecilia Fareeda Goveas, IQAC Coordinator and Head, Department of Economics,Dr Jenis Mary P Vice Principal ,School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya preside over programme.

Master of Ceremony by Ms. Navya II BA, Ms. Joan Bobby welcomed the gathering. Mr.Dheeraj Srinivas Sports Secretary introduced the torch bearers. Mr. Joyal D’Souza introduced the Chief Guest, and Vice Principal along with all staff members Honored, Mr.ROSHAN FERRAO, addressed the gathering with her enlighting words of sportsmanship and declared the Annual Athletic meet 2023 open. Dr Jenis Mary P Vice Principal gave the presidential address to the gathering, Mr. Sandeep Ullal, the Director of Physical Education SSW Roshni Nilaya Thankful each and everyone, and the sports events began. The students of all classes came together with themes and colours representing the unity of the class at the march past. The track and field events were the highlight of the day, with students competing in a range of races such as 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500, 3000 mts and 4X100, and 4X 100 Mixed relay. The field events included shotput and discus throw, which were open to boys girls and staff. The sheer number of participants was impressive, and each one of them gave it their all, determined to secure a place for themselves.

As the day drew to a close, the much-awaited valedictory ceremony began at 5:00 pm. Dr.Flossy Rayyapan, Retd, Associate Professor Dept.of Physical Education Roshni Nilaya addressed the gathering graced the occasion as the chief guest. Her presence added to the professional tone of the event, and her inspiring words left a lasting impression on all those present.

All the winners were congratulated and the sports meet 2023 was put to an end by lowering the Flag and singing the National Anthem.
