SportsMangalore, January 30, 2016 - The School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya held its Annual Sports Meet today at the police ground, marking a day of athletic prowess and school spirit. Students from BA, BSW, MSW, and M. Sc programs participated with enthusiasm in various events. The day began with a grand march past, where students showcased their unity through themed attire and vibrant colors. Dr. Jacintha D'Souza, the chief guest, addressed the gathering, encouraging students to cultivate a sportsman spirit for overall development. Dr. Flossy Rayappan, Associate Professor and Physical Director, led the proceedings alongside the school's band team. Other dignitaries present included Dr. Flocy Rayappan, retired Associate Professor, as guest of honor; Dr. Jenis Mary P, Vice Principal, who presided over the program; and Prof. Eveleen Bennis, HOD of MSW. The sports meet featured a mix of track and field events. Participants competed in races ranging from 100 to 3000 meters, as well as relays. The event concluded with the lowering of the flag and the singing of the National Anthem, marking the end of the Sports Day for the Academic Year 2016-2017.
