On the occasion of National Sports Day, the Physical Education Department Organized a Special Program to honor the legacy of Major Dhyan Chand on 29th August 2024. The event commenced with Ms. Brinell as the Master of Ceremonies (MC), who eloquently shared the rich legacy of Major Dhyan Chand and extended a warm welcome to all present.
Following the opening remarks, the Sports Secretary, Ms. Vandana Shetty, led the faculty members to the stage. In a moment of reverence, they honored Major Dhyan Chand by placing flowers before his portrait. The ceremony was further graced by the presence of the cabinet members, who joined for a memorable group photograph, commemorating the day.
The formal proceedings were followed by an informal segment filled with engaging activities for teachers, students, and non-teaching staff. The fun began with a game where five teachers were invited on stage to participate in a challenge that involved blowing a balloon inside a glass to move it to the other side of the stage. This was followed by a similar activity for students and non-teaching staff. The excitement continued with a balloon-tied-to-the-leg game for teachers, where the objective was to protect one's own balloon while attempting to burst others. For students, a push-up competition was held, and for teachers, another challenge involved building a pyramid with glasses.
The highlight of the event was a surprise game where two lucky participants found hidden slips under their chairs, each slip marked with "National Sports Day." The winners received special prizes. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Vandana Shetty, expressing gratitude to all who participated and contributed to the event's success. The day ended with the national anthem, leaving everyone with a sense of pride and camaraderie. The event saw the participation of 200 students and 25 staff of the college teaching and non-teaching
