Student Christian Movement of India is affiliated to the World Student Christian Federation (WSCF), a student federation across the globe which believes in mutual solidarity and networking among the student community.
SCMI provides a wide scope of experiences through fellowship, group dynamics, and live-in experiences among marginalised communities. A wide range of learning through spiritual reflections social analysis and cultural action is focused on in SCMI.
Assistant Professor, Ms. Rachitha Cabral from the Department of English, was invited as a Resource Person for the Regional Conference,based on her association with SCMI, East Unit, Bangalore as a Student Representative of Karnataka 1998-2005.
As her designation is now that of a 'Senior Friend' she was invited to conduct a session on the theme - Education: Learning, Discerning and Transforming on 24th February 2020 at Sahodaya, Karnataka Theological College, KACES Campus. 30 selected student delegates from various colleges of Karnataka attended the three- day Conference.
The workshop dealt with the concept of Indian Behaviour and Education al Concerns. The Role Plays by the delegates ranged on topics such as Generation Gap, Social Media addiction, Superstitious beliefs and Indian Behaviour (Private Vs Public).
A talk on the workings of the present education system of India, the Acts and Rights related to providing Education to women, the disabled, the marginalised communities was followed by an interactive discussion and feedback session by the student delegates.
