The Department of Human Resource Management at the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, On 15-10-2024 organized an insightful session on Empowering Future HR Leaders: Insights from Industry Expert. Ms. Aishwarya Nair, HR Business Partner (HRBP) at Zebia- Product Engineering, Chennai was the resource person. Ms. Aishwarya, a 2016 graduate and former Secretary of the HR Forum Ms.Nair began her career with Manipal technologies Ltd and shared her professional journey with the final-year MSW HR specialization students.
The session provided an in-depth understanding of the HR domain, offering valuable distinctions between MSW HR and MBA HR roles. While MBA HR professionals focus on the business aspects of organizations, MSW HR professionals balance both business and people-oriented responsibilities. Ms. Aishwarya emphasized that MSW HR graduates are uniquely skilled and empathetic, advising students to build confidence in the knowledge they possess.
The interactive session allowed students to ask questions on profile building, essential skills for the current job market, and career development strategies. Ms. Aishwarya stressed the importance of proactiveness, strong communication skills, and academic excellence. She urged students to take full advantage of available resources, participate in conferences, and take on initiatives to enhance their profiles.
Expressing gratitude, Ms. Aishwarya credited Dr. Sebastin K V, Dean of Academics and HOD of the HR Forum, for his mentorship during her college years. Her experiences and advice provided the students with a practical understanding of the HR profession and the current job market, leaving them better equipped for their future careers.
The session was highly beneficial, offering students a real-world perspective on the evolving role of HR professionals and the expectations of the industry. There were 25 participants. Ms Arudhanthi Hegde Guest faculty was also present.
