On the occasion of World Day for Safety and Health at Work, a Cardiac Health Camp for the staff was organized by the Psy Forum, Sociology-Economics Forum and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in association with Mangalore Heart Scan Foundation on Friday, 28th April 2023 from 9 am to 1 pm in the college premises.
The inaugural programme was unique with medical experts Dr. Mukund K, Senior Cardiologist, Dr. Vinayaka P, Cardiologist & Dr. Meghana Mukund International Training Fellow in ICU along with the President of the Institute of Social Service Prof. Vida Sequeira, teaching and administrative representatives assembling the human heart, a creative work of Ummul Haseena Muskan (III BA).
Senior cardiologist Mangalore Heart Scan Foundation Dr. Mukund K spoke about heart disease, its types, warning signs and risk factors. He mentioned that one needs to have an objective perception of the threat of impending disease, and get checked by medical professionals as prevention is the preemptive behaviour that seeks to avert a disease before it develops. He reminded the audience to not discuss their health status with all and sundry, instead discuss the same only with medical professionals and immediate family.
A total of 64 employees from the college in addition to employees from other agencies within the Roshni Campus participated in the Cardiac Health Camp. Besides, a psychological assessment was also done.
