The Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science had organized a session on ‘General Forensic Science’ for the first-year students of MSc CFS on 17th August 2023 at 11.30 a.m in the PG Department of CFS. Ms. Likhitha V K., Assistant Professor, Department of Forensic Science, Soundarya Institute of Management and Health Science, Bengaluru and also an Alumni of the institution was the resource person.
Ms. Likhitha V K started the discussion with the concept of Forensic Science and its principles. She explained the Locard’s Principle of exchange, Law of individuality, Law of progressive change, Principle of Comparison, Principle of analysis and Law of probability with suitable examples. She also shared her experience of being a student of the department and the job opportunities in the field of Criminology and Forensic Science. She encouraged the students to set a goal and strive towards to achieve it.
Students expressed that the session was very informative and interactive. They could approach freely to get answer for their queries. The session concluded at 1.00 pm with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Niketh PS, Assistant Professor, PG Department of CFS. Ms. Vedhashini of First years MSc CFS drafted the report. Altogether, 16 students were present during the session.
