As a part of academic curriculum, the second-year students of Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice Specialization of Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science, accompanied by Mr. Roshan D’Souza, Assistant Professor, MSc Criminology and Forensic Science (CFS) of the college had visited the St. Agnes Special School on Tuesday, 26th March 2024 at 9:30 am.

The main objective of the visit was to gain knowledge about the functions and services offered by the institution concerning children who are differently abled. Mr. Narayana S, Physical Training Instructor and the Karnataka State Sports Director interacted with the students about the different physical activities provided and their benefits for the children. The students got to observe the children do their morning activities of running, jumping hurdles. Mr. Narayana also spoke about the students who had participated in National and International Competitions.

Ms. Celine Jyothi spoke about the different problems and issues they face with the children and how they are handling those issues. She also spoke about how the students are divided to make it easier for the teachers to manage them. The students got to interact with the children. This was followed by a tour of the Vocational Training Centre by Mr. Narayana S where individuals with special needs are given vocational training. The VTC had 3 sectors- Book binding, Carpentry and Crafts. The students expressed that the visit proved to be a valuable learning experience as they were able to witness the institution's provision of activities to children with disabilities. The visit came to a close with a vote of thanks at 11:30 pm. Altogether, 07 students and a faculty was part of this visit.
